Environmental Law Resource Center has launched the new education year with an interesting lecture delivered by Mrs. Erika Lyman - environmental law professor of the Lewis and Clark Law School of Oregon and Mr. Randy Tucker - lobbyist of the Metro Government of Oregon State. The guests visited Armenia within the framework of the Legislative Fellows Program carried out by the American Councils and the US Embassy in Armenia.
Erica Lyman introduced the Environmental Law Program taught at the Lewis & Clark Law School as well as the peculiarities of teaching and underlined the importance of gaining practical lawyer's skills while studying. the Lewis & Clark Law Scholl has been the first in the US to have environmental law program.
The reportby Mr. Randy Tucker was devoted to the lobbying institution in the US as en effective way of cooperation with the elected legislature. He told the student the good, bad and ugly about his work and mentioned what one needs to become a successfull lobbist. First among those qualities is the ability to create connections.
The lecture was attended by about 50 students, lecturers and NGO representatives who had the opprotunity to get answers to their questions.
