RESEARCH AND LECTURING

Dr. Aida Iskoyan graduated from the high school of the Krasnodar region, Armavir city with honor. At the same year she was enrolled to Faculty of Law of the Yerevan State Universiy. In 1962 she graduated from the Faculty of Law with honor and according to the decision of the Scientific Council appointed as a lecturer at the same faculty at the Chair of Civil procedure. For long years she has been the first and only female lecturer at the Faculty of Law. In 1980 by her initiative a new course entitled "Legal protection of the environment" was added to the educational program. It should be noted that this course was included in the educational program of the Soviet republics only in 1982. At the same time Dr. Iskoyan has taught Land Law, Collective Farming Law (Agrarian Law). These developments laid ground for scientific research involving the sutdents and Ph.D candidates.
In 1988 she had a report on Soviet-Armenian Symposium, which was published in the "Pace Environmental Law Review" magazine.
In 1994 she had a report on the topic "Environmental Law in RA" in Boston.

In 1986 at the Institute of State and Law of the NAS of USSR Dr. Aida Iskoyan protected Ph.D dissertation devoted to Legal Regulation of the Protection and Utilization of the Flora. Since then to present she continues fruitful research and lecturing activities at the Faculty of Law. Since 2008, Dr. Aida Iskoyan is the head of the Environmental Law Research Centre of the Faulty of Law, YSU.

OTHER ACTIVITY

From 2000 to 2004 Dr. Iskoyan worked as Adviser of the Minister of Nature Protection of RA. Currently she holds the position of the National Coordinator to the UNECE Convention "On Access to Information, Public Participation in Environmental Decision-Making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters".

From 2004 to 2008 she has leaded the Chair of Civil Procedure of YSU.
Since 1997 Dr. Iskoyan has been involved in civil movement and heads the "Environmental Public Advocacy Centre" NGO. She has also coordinated a number of international and regional environmental programs, as well as provided expert services.

Since 2010 Dr. Iskoyan taughts certain isuues of environmental legislation to the civil servants of the Ministry of Nature Protection of RA in the framework of requalification courses organized by the Division of Postgraduate and supplementary education of YSU.
