Within the framework of the Legislative Fellowship Program implemented by the American Councils of the US Stae Department the guests from the US Mrs. Erica Lyman - environmental law professor of the Lewis & Clark Law School and Mr. Randy Tucker - lobbyist of Oregon Metro Council participated at a round-table devoted to the issues of land management.
The event was attended by the Country Director of the American Councils Ms. Elvira E. Dana, representatives of the National Assembly of RA, UNDP, local and regional NGOs.
The round-table was amed to share the experience compiled, to value the achivements and seek for solutions to address the challenges. The following themes were on the agenda: Land use management and regional governance in the Portland, Oregon, USA metropolitan area, The Land and Soil as an object of legal protection within the system of environmental law, the case law on land management issues in Oregon, The challenges of the land management in Armenia, Involvement of Armenia in the regional land protection programs, Willamette Falls Legacy Project. At the round table the new section of ELRC web-page was introduced which comprises US case law on environmental isses.
At the end of the round table the guests thanked for holding interesting event and opening floor for constructive discussion.
